Iftakhar Ahmed Chowdhry, IRS (C&IT:2013), has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Health Research, Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The officer was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue. His appointment has been approved for a four-year tenure from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The concerned authorities have been asked to relieve him of his present duties immediately to enable him to join his new position in the Department of Health Research.
As stipulated under the Central Staffing Scheme, the officer must join the post within three weeks from the date of issue of the DoPT appointment order. This requirement follows the directions of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), communicated through the DoPT circular dated August 17, 2005. Failure to join within the prescribed period may lead to the initiation of debarment proceedings under the scheme.
