Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), succeeding Shaktikanta Das.
A 1990 batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, Malhotra has extensive experience in financial administration and policymaking. He previously served as the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, where he played a crucial role in reforming the banking and insurance sectors. He also held leadership positions, including CMD of REC Limited and Principal Secretary (Energy) in Rajasthan.
With a strong background in finance, public sector management, and energy policy, Malhotra brings valuable expertise to his new role. His leadership is expected to shape India’s monetary policies and strengthen the financial system.
