Delhi, February 11, 2026: Advancing the vision of a cleaner and greener India, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project on sustainable solid waste management was launched on 9th February, 2026 at the National Security Guard (NSG) Campus, Manesar. The Bhumi Pujan ceremony was held in the distinguished presence of Shri Brigu Srinivasan, Director General, NSG, Shri Deepak Kedia, IG, NSG and Shri M. Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning), HUDCO, along with senior officials from both organizations.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for implementation of the comprehensive and sustainable Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management practices across 1,700-acre NSG campus was signed between HUDCO and NSG on 21st January 2026.
The project has been designed to implement an integrated waste management system at the NSG campus in Manesar. The scope includes door-to-door waste collection from all waste generation points, transportation to a dedicated Material Recovery Facility (MRF), and scientific processing and disposal of collected waste.
The facility has a total processing capacity of 5–7 tonnes per day (TPD). This includes a 2-tonne biogas plant that will process organic waste generated from residential buildings and 52 canteens within the campus. The processed organic waste will be converted into biogas, which will be used to replace LPG consumption for cooking in one of the larger canteens.
The project being implemented by Blue Planet Environmental Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, will include dry waste collection from the campus that will be segregated into multiple streams, including plastics, metals, glass, and cardboard, based on their physical characteristics, and will subsequently be sent for recycling. The project aims to enhance overall sanitation across the premises, reduce the carbon footprint associated with waste dumping, and prevent up to 2,000 tonnes of waste from reaching landfills annually.
Shri Brigu Srinivasan, Director General, NSG on the occasion said that Environmental stewardship is an integral part of national security. This Integrated Waste Management Facility demonstrates how defence establishments can lead by example in adopting sustainable, efficient, and future-ready infrastructure.”
