HAL–Safran pact to power LEAP engine Growth from India

At the 55th Paris Air Show, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and French aerospace major Safran Aircraft Engines deepened their strategic ties by signing an agreement for the production of Inconel forged parts used in LEAP engines. This collaboration, signed by HAL’s LCA Division GM Abdul Salam and Safran’s VP (Purchasing) Dominique Dupuy, builds upon their earlier MoUs and contracts aimed at industrializing LEAP engine components under the Make in India initiative.

The parts will be manufactured at HAL’s Foundry & Forge Division in Bengaluru using advanced ring forging technology. Safran is also working with HAL to co-develop balance parts, positioning India as a crucial node in the global aerospace supply chain. HAL CMD Dr. D K Sunil termed it a proud moment, while Safran reaffirmed its intent to scale up operations in India to support civil and future military aviation demands.
