Government appoints new Joint Secretaries across key Ministries and Departments

In a significant round of appointments, the Government of India has assigned new responsibilities to several senior officers across key ministries and departments. Dinesh Kumar Verma has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), while Ms. Chhavi Bhardwaj takes over as Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Strengthening India’s nuclear and energy sectors, Ms. Nidhi Pandey has been given charge as Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy and Ashim Kumar Modi has been appointed in the Ministry of Coal. Similarly, Ms. Anvita Sinha has joined as Joint Secretary in the National Development Council, and Ms. Aishvarya Singh has been posted in the Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation.

On the economic and financial front, Amit Singla has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, while Tarun Kumar Pithode will now serve in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (EF\&CC). Ms. Ekroop Caur has taken charge as Joint Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, and Krishna Kant Pathak will be working in the Department of Fertilizers. Strengthening the financial sector, Ms. Shalini Pandit has been posted as Joint Secretary in Financial Services, and Arvind Khare has been assigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs. In addition, Ms. Garima Singh will serve as Joint Secretary in Information and Broadcasting, Suresh Kumar has joined as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, while Ajay Kumar and Phool Chand Prasad have been appointed as Joint Secretaries in the Department of Legal Affairs.

Further enhancing governance and planning roles, Ms. Archana Mittal has joined as Joint Secretary in NITI Aayog, while Ms. Nidhi Pandey has been given charge of the Department of Official Language. Sushil Kumar Patel has been appointed in the DoPT, whereas Satyaprakash T.L. and Aman Sharma will be serving in the Department of Pharmaceuticals. Strengthening infrastructure and connectivity, Shreeshail Malge has been assigned to the Department of Posts, Chetan Nand Singh to the Ministry of Road Transport, and Nishant Verma to ANRF. Tourism has received new leadership with the appointment of Harikishore as Joint Secretary, while Ms. V. Lalithalakshmi will now serve in the Vice President’s Secretariat.

Key social and developmental ministries have also received new appointments. Sumant Narain has been given the role of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources, while Ajeet Kumar and Ms. Radhika Jha will take charge as Joint Secretaries in the Ministry of Women & Child Development. Adding to the youth-focused initiatives, Mansoor Hasan Khan has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs. These wide-ranging appointments are expected to bring renewed energy and expertise to critical departments, ensuring smoother governance and stronger policy execution across sectors.
