New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of additional charge entrusted to Gopal Singh, IFoS (BH:2003), as Commissioner (Joint Secretary level) of the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO).
According to an order issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on September 19, 2026, the extension has been approved on the proposal of the Ministry of Coal.
Gopal Singh, who is serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, will continue to hold the additional charge of Commissioner, CMPFO, for a period of six months with effect from August 17, 2026.
The extension will remain effective until the completion of the six-month period, appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or until further orders, whichever is earliest.
The ACC decision followed a reference from the Ministry of Coal through its letter dated August 18, 2026.
