Effat Ara IAS has been given the additional charge of Joint Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection, Chhattisgarh on October 16, 2023. She is a 2012-batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. She is currently serving as the Managing Director of MARKFED and Nagarik Apurti Nigam (NAN).
As Joint Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection, she will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies and programs related to food security, public distribution system, consumer protection, and other allied matters. She will also be responsible for overseeing the functioning of various departments and agencies under the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Department.
Ara is a highly experienced and accomplished IAS officer. She has held various important positions in the Chhattisgarh government, including Collector of Surajpur district and Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha. She is known for her dedication, efficiency, and commitment to public service.
