The Punjab Government has restructured portfolios of eight senior IAS officers, entrusting them with expanded and critical roles.
Alok Shekhar now takes on additional charge of ACS, Finance, alongside his responsibilities as Financial Commissioner, Cooperation, and ACS, Home Affairs. Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari has been designated as Financial Commissioner, Excise, and given further responsibilities in Good Governance, IT, and Parliamentary Affairs. Basant Garg will now also oversee Horticulture and Soil & Water Conservation in addition to his portfolios in Agriculture, Health, and Anti-Drug initiatives.
Meanwhile, Anindita Mitra adds the role of MD, Punjab Infrastructure Development Board to her duties in Education. Aravind Kumar M K, returning from deputation, has been posted as Director, Treasury & Accounts. Jitendra Jorwal takes on added responsibilities in Excise & Taxation, and Ajay Arora becomes Special Secretary, Finance. Kanchan, presently ADC (Rural Development), Bathinda, is now also Commissioner of the Bathinda Municipal Corporation.
