Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), has been elected as the Co-Chairman of the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI).
Recognized for his leadership in advancing sustainable agriculture and fertiliser innovation, Dr. Mohanty will now contribute to shaping national policy, promoting balanced fertiliser usage, and enhancing food security initiatives.
Shri Siba Prasad Mohanty brings with him over 35 years of extensive and varied experience, primarily in the marketing of agricultural inputs. His distinguished career includes leadership roles in multiple public sector undertakings. He served as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) until December 28, 2023. Prior to that, he also held additional charge as CMD of HIL (India) Limited until October 4, 2022.
During his tenure at HIL, the company received numerous prestigious awards under his leadership. These included recognitions such as the CSR Excellence Award from Bureaucracy Today, the SKOCH Merit Award, the FICCI INDIA CHEM Award, the Greentech CSR Award, the ET-Now World CSR Award, and the National Award for Excellence in Rural Marketing by CMO Asia. Additionally, HIL earned the Rajbhasha Award under the Kirti Puraskar Scheme of the Department of Official Language.
Earlier in his career, Shri Mohanty served at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (RCF), Mumbai, from 1989 to 2015 in various significant roles. His contributions at RCF earned him notable accolades including the “Marketing Man of the Year” award in 1995 and the “Best Employee” award in 2012.
