Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has officially laid the foundation stone for the city’s most advanced Multi-Level Electric Bus Depot at Hari Nagar, marking a major milestone in the capital’s EV revolution. The ceremony was attended by Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Urban Development Minister Dr. Ashish Sood, IAS officers Niharika Rai, Prince Dhawan, Vishwendra, NBCC CMD K P Mahadevaswamy, and other dignitaries.
The upcoming depot, developed by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in collaboration with NBCC (India) Ltd., will house nearly 400 electric buses, supported by modern charging facilities. Built at a cost of ₹419 crore on a 6.22-acre plot, the project will feature a built-up space of 7.4 lakh sq. ft., accommodating DTC offices, dormitories, and commercial hubs.
With integrated solar power, rainwater harvesting, and wastewater treatment systems, the depot is designed to be financially self-sustainable while promoting eco-friendly urban growth. This landmark initiative not only transforms Delhi’s public transport infrastructure but also strengthens the city’s role as a leader in green mobility and sustainable infrastructure.
