Collegium clears key elevations across four High Courts

In a series of judicial elevation decisions, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended multiple appointments and confirmations to strengthen the benches of High Courts across India.

Justice Partha Sarathi Sen and Justice Apurba Sinha Ray, both serving as Additional Judges of the Calcutta High Court, have been approved for elevation as Permanent Judges. Similarly, in Andhra Pradesh, four Additional Judges—Justice Harinath Nunepally, Ms. Justice Kiranmayee Mandava, Ms. Justice Sumathi Jagadam, and Justice Nyapathy Vijay—are set to be appointed as Permanent Judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

In the Delhi High Court, the Collegium has recommended the elevation of Vimal Kumar Yadav, a serving Judicial Officer, to the position of High Court Judge. Meanwhile, Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, currently an Additional Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court, is also in line for confirmation as a Permanent Judge.

These appointments reflect the Collegium’s continued efforts to enhance the strength and stability of the higher judiciary across the country.
