Chhattisgarh IPS Reshuffle: 31 officers transferred, new responsibilities assigned

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has carried out a major IPS officer reshuffle, transferring and assigning new responsibilities to 31 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across different levels of the state police administration. The changes cover senior positions ranging from Director General of Police (DG) and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) to Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

The latest Chhattisgarh IPS transfers involve key departments and police wings, including training, administration, law and order, anti-narcotics operations, technical services, CID, CCTNS, telecom, traffic, security, finance and planning.

Among the major appointments, Gurjinder Pal Singh (1994 batch) has been appointed Director General of Training as well as Director General of the State Police Academy. Pawan Dev (1992 batch) has been posted as Director General of Home Guards, Civil Defence and Fire Services.

Meanwhile, Deepanshu Vijay Kabra (1997 batch) has been assigned additional responsibility as Additional Director General of Police, Railways and Traffic, along with his existing duties. SRP Kalluri (1994 batch) has been appointed Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation.

The detailed list of 31 IPS officers transferred in Chhattisgarh and their new assignments is as follows:

  • Pawan D. (1992 batch): Director General, Home Guards, Civil Defence and Fire Services.
  • Gurjinder Pal Singh (1994 batch): Director General, Training and Director General, State Police Academy.
  • SRP Kalluri (1994 batch): Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation.
  • Pradeep Gupta (1995 batch): Additional Director General of Police, Administration and Selection, with additional charge as Director, Prosecution.
  • Vivekananda (1996 batch): Additional Director General of Police, Finance, Planning and Management, in addition to his existing responsibilities.
  • Deepanshu Vijay Kabra (1997 batch): Additional Director General of Police, Railways and Traffic, along with his current assignment.
  • Amit Kumar (1998 batch): Additional Director General of Police, Anti-Narcotics Task Force, in addition to his existing charge.
  • Dr. Anand Chhabra (2001 batch): Additional Director General of Police, Technical Services, Dial-112 and Telecom.
  • Om Prakash Paul (2003 batch): Inspector General of Police, Law and Order and Security.
  • Ankit Kumar Garg (2004 batch): Inspector General of Police, Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Special Branch, along with his current responsibilities.
  • Dhruv Gupta (2005 batch): Inspector General of Police, CID, CCTNS and SCRB.
  • Balajirao Somavar (2007 batch): Inspector General of Police, AJK and Technical Services.
  • Prashant Kumar Agarwal (2008 batch): Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces.
  • Milna Kurre (2008 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, Anti-Narcotics Task Force.
  • Parul Mathur (2008 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, Anti-Narcotics Task Force.

  • Girija Shankar Jaiswal (2010 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID and CCTNS/SCRB.
  • ML Kotwani (2010 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, Municipal Army, State Disaster Management Force and Fire Services.
  • Prashant Kumar Thakur (2011 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, Security.
  • Ajatshatru Bahadur Singh (2011 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, Finance, Planning and Management.
  • Vivek Shukla (2012 batch): Deputy Inspector General of Police, Telecom and Dial-112.

The latest administrative exercise is expected to strengthen police administration, law and order, technical services, traffic management, anti-narcotics operations and internal security across Chhattisgarh. The appointments also bring several senior IPS officers into key operational and administrative roles within the state police structure.
