Chhattisgarh IAS Transfer: 22 Officers Reshuffled, Six Collectors changed

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has announced a major administrative reshuffle involving 22 IAS officers, bringing changes to several important state departments and district administrations. The transfer order includes new Collectors for six districts and significant changes in departments such as Urban Administration, Tribal Development, Social Welfare, Tourism, Forest and Climate Change, and Public Health Engineering.

Several officers have also been assigned additional responsibilities, while some senior bureaucrats have been moved to key positions at the Mantralaya.

One of the most significant changes in the latest Chhattisgarh IAS transfer is the appointment of Sonmani Bora, IAS (1999), as Principal Secretary of the Urban Administration and Development Department.

Bora was earlier serving as Principal Secretary of the Tribal Development Department, Scheduled Caste Development Department, and Backward Classes and Minority Development Department.

Despite the new assignment, she will continue to hold additional responsibility for the Science and Technology Department.

Meanwhile, R. Sangeeta, IAS (2005), who was Secretary of the Urban Administration and Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary at the Mantralaya.

Bhuvanesh Yadav, IAS (2006), currently Secretary of the Planning, Economics and Statistics Department, has been given additional responsibility for the Tribal Development Department, Scheduled Caste Development Department, and Backward Classes and Minority Development Department.

Yadav will also continue to handle his existing additional charge of the Commercial Tax (Registration) Department.

The appointment adds another important responsibility to his administrative portfolio.

Six Districts Get New Collectors:

The latest reshuffle has brought new leadership to six districts of Chhattisgarh — Kanker, Gariyaband, Mungeli, Sakti, Kabirdham and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki.

The key Collector-level changes are as follows:

  • Ranbir Sharma, IAS (2012), Director of Social Welfare, has been appointed Collector of Gariyaband.
  • Kundan Kumar, IAS (2013), has been transferred from Mungeli and appointed Collector of Kanker.
  • Amrit Vikas Topno, IAS (2014), has moved from Sakti to become Collector of Mungeli.
  • Jaishree Jain, IAS (2016), formerly Joint Secretary in the Forest and Climate Change Department, has been appointed Collector of Sakti.
  • Tulika Prajapati, IAS (2016), has been transferred from Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki and appointed Collector of Kabirdham.
  • Tanuja Salam, IAS (2019), previously Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, will now serve as Collector of Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki.

The changes represent a major reorganisation of district-level administration across the state.

Nileshkumar Mahadev Kshirsagar, IAS (2011), who was serving as Collector of Kanker, has been transferred and appointed Director of Urban Administration and Development.

His transfer comes alongside a change in the leadership of the Urban Administration department.

Rimijiyasu Ekka, IAS (2011), who was Director of Urban Administration and Development, has been shifted to the Public Health Engineering Department as Special Secretary.

Ekka has also been given additional responsibility as Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Bhoskar Vilas Sandipan, IAS (2011), Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh, has been assigned additional responsibility as Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Civil Supplies Corporation.

The Election Commission of India has approved the officer’s appointment to the additional post.

Bhagwan Singh Uikey, IAS (2016), who was serving as Collector of Gariyaband, has been transferred to the state headquarters.

He has been appointed Joint Secretary in the General Administration Department (GAD).

Similarly, Gopal Verma, IAS (2016), has been moved from his position as Collector of Kabirdham and posted as Joint Secretary in the Forest and Climate Change Department.

The administrative reshuffle also includes several changes involving senior and mid-level IAS officers.

Hina Animesh Netam, IAS (2016), Director of the Tribal Research and Training Institute, has received additional charge as Managing Director of the Antyavasai Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation.

Gajendra Singh Thakur, IAS (2019), Deputy Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, has been assigned additional responsibility as Director of Social Welfare.

Roma Srivastava, IAS (2020), previously Deputy Secretary at the Mantralaya, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Surguja.

Akanksha Shiksha Khalkho, IAS (2020), who was serving as CEO of District Panchayat Narayanpur, has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Commerce and Industry and Public Enterprises Department.

She will also take additional charge as Director of Sports and Youth Welfare.

Leena Kosam, IAS (2020), Controller of Examinations at the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, has been transferred and appointed Municipal Commissioner of Durg.

The appointment brings her from the state public service commission to an important urban administrative role.

Saumil Ranjan Choubey, IAS (2021), who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Agriculture Department, has been appointed Managing Director of the Tourism Board.

The appointment is part of the broader restructuring of responsibilities across the state administration.

Birendra Bahadur Panchbhai, IAS (2021), who was posted as Additional Collector in Narayanpur, has been transferred and appointed Additional Collector, Bilaspur.
