Chennai Collector among 13 IAS officers shifted in major Tamil Nadu bureaucratic reshuffle

The Tamil Nadu Government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle involving 13 IAS officers, with several senior bureaucrats receiving new assignments across key departments. The exercise reflects the state’s effort to strengthen governance and improve administrative efficiency in critical sectors.

One of the prominent changes includes the transfer of former Chennai District Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, who has been appointed as Special Secretary to the Government in the Higher Education Department. Har Sahay Meena has been moved from the post of Principal Secretary and Vice-Chairman of Science City to Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Land Reforms. Ajay Yadav, Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation Ltd., has been appointed Commissioner of Milk Production and Dairy Development while also holding additional charge of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation (Aavin).

Other notable transfers include Dr. J. Vijaya Rani, who moves from Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation to head the Horticulture and Plantation Crops Department, and P. Kumaravel Pandian, who has been appointed Member Secretary of the State Planning Commission. P. Rathinasamy, formerly Collector of Ariyalur district, takes over as Director of Technical Education, while Dr. R. Sukumar has been posted as Director of Stationery and Printing.

The reshuffle also includes A. John Louis, Dr. S. Visakan, V. Sivakrishnamurthy, Selvi R. Anamika, T. Anbalagan, and Dr. J.U. Chandrakala, whose services have been assigned to various departments and public sector organizations, including the Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation, Science City, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Tamil Nadu Maritime Board, and Tamil Nadu Cements Corporation. The large-scale transfer exercise is expected to have a significant impact on administrative management and policy implementation across the state.
