Centre notifies key IAS, IES and ISS appointments; Deputation tenures extended and posts upgraded

New Delhi: The Central Government on Tuesday issued a fresh set of notifications announcing several appointments, re-designations, and extensions of deputation tenures across key ministries and departments.

Haish S (IAS: 2015, Chhattisgarh cadre) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce for a tenure of four years.

The post of Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary level) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), currently held by Rajesh Meena (IAS: 2012, Bihar cadre), has been upgraded and re-designated as Deputy Director (Senior) at Director level. His tenure will continue until August 21, 2029, with central deputation effective from August 22, 2024.

The central deputation tenure of T Mithra (IAS: 2009, Kerala cadre), serving as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Kerala under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been extended to a total of seven years, now valid until November 19, 2026.

Prerna Joshi (IES: 2012), currently holding the post of Deputy Secretary in the Central Information Commission, has had her position re-designated as Director in the same organization. Her tenure will extend until June 12, 2030, with central deputation commencing from June 13, 2025.

Similarly, the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare held by Arun G (IES: 2012) has been elevated to the Director level. Her tenure will remain in force until October 20, 2030, with central deputation effective from October 21, 2025.

Ravinder Kumar (IAS: 2012, AGMUT cadre), presently serving as Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has been re-designated as Private Secretary at Director level to the same minister. His tenure will continue until April 18, 2029, with deputation effective from April 19, 2024.

Rashmi Kamal (IAS: 2006, West Bengal cadre) has been appointed as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration (Director level), West Bengal, for a period of three years.

Biswajit Pegu (IAS: 2009, Assam cadre) has been selected for appointment as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration (Director level), Assam, under the Central Staffing Scheme, also for a three-year tenure.

In another key appointment, Srimant Kumar (ISS: 2011) has been chosen for appointment as Joint Secretary (Director level) in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for a period of five years.
