Centre approves extension of deputation tenures for six senior officers

The Central Government has approved the extension of deputation tenures for six senior officers across various ministries and departments, ensuring continuity in key administrative functions:

-Ms. Sharmistha Maitra (IDES: 2005), serving as Director in the Ministry of Defence, will continue her central deputation for an extended term of two years, now up to August 31, 2028.
-Ms. Shalini Pandey (IDES: 2004), currently Director in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has also been granted a two-year extension, extending her tenure up to August 16, 2027.
-Prateek Kumar Singh (IRAS: 2006), Director in the Department of Expenditure, will now serve on deputation until August 18, 2027, with a two-year extension approved.
-Shobhendra Bahadur (ITS: 1994), Director in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has received a one-year extension, taking his deputation up to August 31, 2026.
-Atul Jain, Chairman of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), Hyderabad, has been granted an extension of six months, effective from May 28, 2025.
-Anupam Mishra (IES: 1995), Joint Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, will now continue for one more year beyond July 23, 2025, following his approved extension.

These extensions reflect the government’s emphasis on administrative stability and sectoral expertise across departments.
