Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit named next Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force

The Government of India has appointed Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit as the next Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) of the Indian Air Force (IAF). He is scheduled to assume charge of the country’s second-highest position in the Air Force on July 1, 2026.

Currently serving as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC) at the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, Air Marshal Dixit brings extensive operational and strategic experience to the role. His appointment comes at a crucial time as the Indian Air Force continues its modernization efforts and strengthens joint military capabilities among the armed forces.
