The competent authority has approved the appointment of Karthikeyan KP, IAS (Tamil Nadu: 2014), as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme.

According to the appointment order, his tenure will be four years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

The officer is to be relieved of his present duties immediately to enable him to take up the new assignment in the Department of Economic Affairs.

The appointment forms part of the central staffing process through which IAS officers are assigned responsibilities in various Union government ministries and departments.
