The Central Government has selected S. Jayavardhan, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre from the 2014 batch, for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme.

According to the appointment order, Jayavardhan will serve in the post for a period of four years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The concerned authority has been asked to relieve him of his present responsibilities immediately to enable him to join his new assignment in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Deadline for Joining the Central Deputation Post:

As per the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) circular dated August 17, 2005, issued in accordance with the directions of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), the selected officer is required to join the new post within three weeks of the issuance of the appointment order.

Failure to comply with the prescribed joining deadline may lead to the initiation of debarment proceedings under the Central Staffing Scheme.
