Lucknow, September 20: The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a fresh reshuffle of the state’s senior administrative machinery, involving 10 IAS officers and several important departments.
The changes have affected key portfolios including Energy, Medical and Health, Higher Education, Forest and Environment, Food and Civil Supplies, Agriculture, Tourism and Labour and Employment.
Among the prominent changes, Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal has been moved from the Energy department and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Labour and Employment.
Following the reshuffle, Ranveer Prasad has been assigned the Energy portfolio. He was earlier serving as Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies.
Prasad will now serve as Principal Secretary, Energy and Additional Energy. He has also been given the responsibility of Chairman of UPPCL, UPPTCL, UPSVUNL and UPSLDC.
Major Changes in IAS Postings:
V. Hekali Zhimomi, who was handling the Forest, Environment and Climate Change department as Principal Secretary, has been moved to Medical, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education as Principal Secretary.
Mahendra Prasad Agrawal has been shifted from Higher Education to the post of Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change.
The Food and Civil Supplies department has a new administrative head with Anil Kumar being moved from Panchayati Raj. He will also continue as Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies and handle Consumer Affairs.
Amit Kumar, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary for Medical, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, has been transferred to Higher Education as Additional Chief Secretary.
Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, will additionally look after the Transport department.
Another significant change involves M.K.S. Sundaram. He has been moved from his existing responsibilities in Labour and Employment and Technical Education and appointed Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Agriculture Education, Agriculture Marketing, Agri-Export Business and Export Promotion.
Following the reshuffle, Ravindra has been posted as Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj.
Meanwhile, Amit Gupta, who is serving as Principal Secretary, Stamp and Registration, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Principal Secretary, Technical Education.
The latest orders come shortly after a major police reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh involving 35 IPS officers. The back-to-back administrative changes have resulted in fresh postings across several major departments of the state government.
