Srinagar: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued an order posting 2008-batch IPS officer Abdul Jabbar to the Jammu & Kashmir segment of the joint AGMUT cadre with immediate effect.

As per the official order, Abdul Jabbar, IPS (AGMUT: 2008), has been assigned to the J&K segment following his return to the cadre after completing his tenure on Central Deputation. His new posting will remain effective until further orders.

The IPS officer reported back to the AGMUT cadre on August 24, 2026. The MHA has clarified that the period between his reporting date and the issuance of the posting order will be treated as “awaiting posting”.

The latest appointment has been made with the approval of the Competent Authority. The move is part of the Centre’s administrative management of officers belonging to the AGMUT cadre, which serves multiple Union Territories and regions, including Jammu & Kashmir.
