Multiple officers named Joint Secretaries across key Ministries

In a significant round of senior-level appointments, the Government of India has appointed several officers as Joint Secretaries across crucial ministries and departments, strengthening administrative leadership and policy execution at the central level. The appointments span vital sectors including Agriculture, Commerce, Defence, Home Affairs, MSME, Power, Health, Education, Textiles, Tribal Affairs, and Youth Affairs, among others.

In the Ministry of Agriculture, Chinmay Pundalikrao Gotmare and Ms Neha Verma have been appointed as Joint Secretaries, reinforcing agricultural policy and governance. The Ministry of Coal has inducted Manoj Kumar Gangeya as Joint Secretary, while the Ministry of Commerce sees three new Joint Secretaries—Amit Verma, Ujjawal Kumar Ghosh, and Ms Kapil Chaudhary—to strengthen trade and commerce administration.

Further appointments include Rahul Jain as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Kamlesh Kumar Mishra in Culture, and Shajan George P Verghese in the Ministry of Defence. Ms Tanvi Garg has been appointed Joint Secretary in EFCC, while Hanish Chhabra joins the Food Ministry and Sibin C the Health Ministry.

In strategic and security-linked organisations, Arindam Modak has been appointed Joint Secretary in NDC, Satyanarain Gupta in NATGRID, and Ms Nishitha Tiwari in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Gurjeet Singh Dhillon has taken charge as Joint Secretary in Housing, while Vinamra Mishra and Keshvendera Kumar have been appointed to the Ministry of MSME.

Additional appointments include Sandeep Vasant Kadam in NCMM, Shyam Prasad Roy in Minority Affairs, Atya Nand in NCM, and Jagdeep Gupta in the Capacity Building Commission. Rajiv Kumar has been appointed Joint Secretary in UPSC, Aadhar Raj in Power, and Shailesh Bagauli in Revenue.

In the education and skill ecosystem, Ms Sukhgeet Kaur has been named Joint Secretary in NCTE, Ms Manasi Sahay Thakur in Skill Development, and Ashish Kumar Gupta in Statistics. The Textiles Ministry has appointed Ms Manisha Chhatterjee as Joint Secretary, while Ms Vrunda Manohar Desai has taken over as the Textile Commissioner.

In the social sector, Naval Kishor and Bhaskar Choradia have been appointed Joint Secretaries in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Shiv Ratan has been named Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Youth Affairs.

These high-level appointments reflect the government’s continued focus on strengthening governance, improving inter-ministerial coordination, and enhancing policy delivery across priority sectors.
