NBCC and NMRDA Ink agreement to develop the massive Naveen Nagpur Integrated Township

NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has formally signed an Agreement with the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) to develop the highly ambitious Naveen Nagpur Project—a modern integrated township spanning nearly 692 hectares (1,710 acres).

This Agreement follows the MoU signed on 8 September 2025, under which NBCC was appointed as the Executing and Implementing Agency as well as the Project Management Consultant (PMC).
The project’s first phase is valued at Rs. 2,966 crore and marks the beginning of one of Nagpur’s most extensive planned urban development programmes.

The Naveen Nagpur Project aims to create a future-ready, sustainable urban ecosystem featuring residential, commercial, institutional, and social infrastructure. NBCC will handle key responsibilities such as:

-Preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR)
-Conducting financial feasibility studies
-Coordinating architectural and engineering designs
-Managing tendering and construction activities
-Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, inclusivity, and green development standards

To facilitate swift progress, an Empowered Committee chaired by the Metropolitan Commissioner, NMRDA, is being constituted. The Committee will oversee approvals, monitor timelines, review deviations, and resolve project issues. Its reports will be shared with the Government of Maharashtra’s Steering Committee.

The collaboration is set to significantly reshape Nagpur’s urban landscape by improving mobility, boosting infrastructure, and promoting sustainable urban growth. NBCC’s proven expertise in executing large-scale government projects will be instrumental in delivering this milestone development.
Construction is expected to be completed within three years, extendable to five years with necessary approvals.
