In a major step towards sustainable mobility, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has donated three modern, air-conditioned electric buses to AIIMS, New Delhi, under its CSR initiatives. The buses, flagged off by R. K. Tyagi (CMD, POWERGRID) and Dr. M. Srinivas (Director, AIIMS), are equipped with pushback seats, wheelchair accessibility, and a hydraulic lift—ensuring comfort and inclusivity for patients and visitors.
This green initiative will ease traffic congestion within the AIIMS campus while reducing carbon emissions. Along with mobility, POWERGRID has also been actively contributing to healthcare infrastructure by building multiple Vishram Sadans across leading hospitals in India. The company’s CSR footprint extends across healthcare, education, rural development, environment, and sanitation. With a network of 286 substations and advanced digital solutions, POWERGRID continues to maintain an impressive 99.84% transmission availability, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and sustainability.
