SECL’s CBM lab in Gevra now operated entirely by women

In a groundbreaking move for inclusion in mining technology, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has launched its first all-women-run Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Lab at CEWS, Gevra. Inaugurated on 17 July 2025 by CMD Harish Duhan, the lab will be managed under the leadership of Assistant Manager Mrs. Babita Patwal.

The facility plays a crucial role in predictive maintenance for mining machinery, analyzing lubricant oils for wear, viscosity, contamination, and more. This pioneering step not only enhances operational efficiency but also empowers women in technical roles within Coal India.
