Hindustan Copper registers 54% jump in profit before tax

Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, has reported a remarkable 54% increase in Profit Before Tax (PBT), reaching Rs. 633.51 crore in the financial year 2024–25, up from Rs. 410.43 crore in the previous year.

The company’s audited financials, approved at a board meeting in Kolkata, also show a record-breaking revenue from operations of ₹2,070.97 crore, reflecting a 21% year-on-year growth.

Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 42% to Rs. 468.53 crore. The Malanjkhand Copper Project in Madhya Pradesh achieved its highest-ever copper ore output at 2.73 million tonnes. HCL’s EBITDA margin improved to 38%, signaling robust financial health amid growing global demand for copper, driven by the shift toward green energy and electric mobility.
