Prime Minister unveils key projects at Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a series of vital infrastructure projects worth over ₹1,100 crore at the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla. The event, held virtually from Bhuj, Kutch on May 26, marks a significant milestone in DPA’s evolution into a major hub for clean energy and modern port infrastructure.

As part of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, DPA is one of the three major ports designated as a Green Hydrogen Hub.

Noteworthy developments include the commissioning of Oil Jetty No. 8 at Old Kandla, which can handle 3.5 million metric tonnes annually, and features advanced safety and automation technologies. Other enhancements include improved connectivity to the container terminal at Tuna-Tekra and expanded facilities for export-import cargo storage to boost operational efficiency.
