AGMUT IPS shuffle: Strategic postings across the Union Territories

In a notable reshuffle, 26 IPS officers belonging to the AGMUT cadre have been transferred across multiple key regions in the country. These transfers form part of a broader strategy to align law enforcement leadership with regional administrative priorities and bring seasoned officers to the forefront.

Among the prominent transfers, B Shankar Jaiswal has been posted to Lakshadweep, while Keshav Ram Chaurasia heads to Goa. Officers Omvir Singh Bishnoi, Raj Kumar Singh, and Dheeraj Kumar have taken new assignments in the national capital, Delhi. Meanwhile, Pushpendra Kumar has been assigned to Chandigarh, and Ashok Malik has been posted to Mizoram, a region requiring experienced administrative oversight.

Sameer Sharma is among those transferred to Jammu & Kashmir, while Apoorva Gupta takes up responsibilities in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Arunachal Pradesh welcomes officers like Devesh Kumar Mahla, Surendra Choudhary, Shivendu Bhushan, and Anurag Dwivedi. Puducherry will now be served by AK Lal and Nithya Radhakrishnan, while Rishi Kumar will contribute to security operations in J\&K.

Delhi, as the hub of complex urban policing, receives a significant number of officers in this round, including Sharad Bhaskar Darade, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Mahesh Kumar Barnwal, Rohit Rajbir Singh, Anant Mittal, Sandeep Gupta, Narra Chaitanya, and Abhimanyu Poswal. Meanwhile, K M Priyanka has been shifted to Chandigarh. This comprehensive realignment strengthens internal security and brings fresh leadership to sensitive zones across India’s Union Territories.
