THDC India Limited (THDCIL), a leading PSU in the power sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) and the Government of Chhattisgarh for the development of a 1400 MW Pumped Storage-Based Hydro Electric Power Project at Dangari, Jashpur district.
The MoU was exchanged at Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, Raipur, in the presence of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain. R. Vishnoi, CMD of THDCIL, emphasized the project’s role in supporting renewable energy integration, ensuring grid stability, and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to socio-economic growth in the region. On behalf of the Chhattisgarh government, the MoU was signed by Principal Secretary (Energy) Subodh Kumar Singh. Key representatives from THDCIL, including Sanjeev Kumar Katiyar (MD) and Bhupender Gupta (Director – Technical), were also present.
The Dangari PSP will use surplus power during off-peak hours to pump water and generate electricity during peak demand, ensuring optimal energy utilization. THDCIL remains committed to executing the project with state-of-the-art technologies and engineering excellence.
