JNPA achieves 9.14% growth in February 2025, strengthens position as India’s leading port

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), recognized as India’s best-performing port, recorded a 9.14% growth in container handling in February 2025, processing 616,164 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs). This marks a significant rise compared to February 2024. From April 2024 to February 2025, JNPA handled a total of 6,629,242 TEUs, reflecting a remarkable 13.60% year-on-year growth.

Key Highlights – February 2025:

  • JNPA managed 7.56 million tonnes of total cargo, registering a 2.09% increase from February 2024.
  • The port efficiently handled 534 container rakes and 86,142 TEUs, up from 526 rakes and 84,350 TEUs in the same period last year.

Key Highlights – FY 2024-25 (April 2024 – February 2025):

  • The port handled 83.85 million tonnes of total cargo, an increase of 7.43% year-on-year.
  • A total of 6,164 container rakes and 978,130 TEUs were processed, surpassing last year’s figures of 5,864 rakes and 935,503 TEUs.

With its continued focus on operational excellence, infrastructure enhancement, and trade facilitation, JNPA remains a pivotal player in India’s maritime sector, driving economic growth and global trade competitiveness.
