NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna company under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has secured a 200 MW Wind Power Project from SJVN Limited at a tariff of Rs. 3.74 per kWh. The Letter of Award (LoA) was issued on February 28, 2025, following NLCIL’s success in the e-reverse auction conducted by SJVN on January 17, 2025.
The project is expected to generate 526 million units (MU) of clean energy annually, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With this milestone, NLCIL’s wind power capacity surpasses 300 MW, contributing to India’s 500 GW non-fossil fuel target by 2030.
Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman & Managing Director, NLC India Limited, expressed pride in the achievement, stating that this reinforces NLCIL’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The company continues to make strategic investments in solar, wind, hybrid power, battery energy storage, and green hydrogen initiatives, aligning with India’s renewable energy goals.
