In a significant administrative move, the Punjab government has carried out a major reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, transferring and posting 22 officers across key departments and regions in the state. The latest IPS transfer and posting orders aim to strengthen policing, intelligence, traffic management, and internal security in Punjab.
As per the updated notification, Naresh Kumar has been appointed as Special DGP, Punjab State Human Rights Commission (PSHRC), Chandigarh, while Amardeep Singh Rai has taken charge as Special DGP, Traffic and Road Safety. Kaustubh Sharma has been posted as ADGP, Human Rights Commission.
Among other important appointments, Jagadkar Nilambari Vijay has been named IGP, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Punjab, and Rajpal Singh has been posted as IGP, Crime. Snehdeep Sharma is now DIG, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), while Sandeep Goel has assumed charge as DIG, Border Range. Jasdev Singh has been appointed DIG, Security, Punjab Lok Bhawan.
Further postings include Sandeep Kumar Garg as DIG, Intelligence, Dhruv Dahiya as DIG, Internal Security, Gulneet Singh Khurana as DIG, Counter Intelligence, Akhil Chaudhary as DIG, ANTF, and Amneet Kondal as DIG, Personnel. Gurpreet Singh has been posted as DIG, CDO, Patiala, while Rupinder Singh has been appointed Additional Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana.
In the vigilance and crime wings, Sarabjit Singh has been named DIG, Crime BoI, Harpreet Singh Jaggi as DIG, EOW, Vigilance Bureau, and Ravjot Grewal has been placed at the disposal of the Vigilance Bureau, Punjab.
At the district level, Jyoti Yadav has been appointed SSP, Bathinda, Darpan Ahluwalia as SSP, Khanna, and Rishabh Bhola has been posted as Staff Officer to the DGP, Punjab.
This latest Punjab IPS reshuffle is expected to bring operational efficiency and sharper focus on law and order, crime control, and road safety across the state.
