17 IPS officers assigned new roles in Bihar

In a sweeping administrative shuffle, the Bihar Government has reassigned 17 IPS officers across critical law enforcement divisions. Pankaj Darad now shoulders the charge of ADG, ATS while also overseeing ADG (Law & Order) and the Special Surveillance Department.

Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, currently ADG, CID (Weaker Sections), has been handed the additional role of ADG, Prohibition. Meanwhile, Rakesh Rathi has relinquished his cyber crime responsibilities as IG, EOU, and now serves as IG, Special Branch, Patna. The reshuffle also sees Ranjit Kumar Mishra handling IG (Training) alongside his SAF duties, while Babu Ram takes over as DIG, Bihar SAF (North), Muzaffarpur.

Other significant changes include Tauheed Pervez as DIG, CID; Rajendra Kumar Bhil as DIG (Personnel); and Rajiv Mishra getting an added charge of DIG, Prohibition. Deepak Ranjan will now hold dual command as Commandant, BSAP-3 and BSAP-17 in Bodhgaya. At the SP level, Rajiv Ranjan-I has been moved to EOU, Patna; Mrs. Veena Kumari to Rail, Muzaffarpur; and Ashok Kumar Prasad becomes AIG (Training), Patna. Additionally, Vinay Tiwari is now SP, Cyber Investigation & Campaign, and Chandra Prakash has been named Assistant Director at the Bihar Police Academy in Rajgir.
