In a significant development for the Indian Revenue Service, 15 senior officers have been promoted to the prestigious rank of Principal Chief Commissioner/Principal Director General of Customs and Indirect Taxes. The promotions have been made for the Panel Year 2025 (Supplementary) and Panel Year 2026 (Regular), while four additional officers have been included in the Extended Panel.
For the Panel Year 2025 (Supplementary), the officers promoted are Mayank Kumar, Madan Mohan Singh, Shrawan Kumar, L Satya Sriniwas, Arti A Srinivas, and Charul Baranwal. For the Panel Year 2026 (Regular), the promoted officers include M Subramaniam, Sanjay Rathi, Nitish Kumar Sinha, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, and Abhai Kumar Srivastava. Additionally, four officers—S K Vimalanathan, Vimal Kumar Srivastava, Pranesh Pathak, and Rajendra Singh—have been placed in the Extended Panel, which will be operated in lieu of officers retiring during 2026.
This round of promotions reflects the government’s focus on strengthening leadership within the Customs and Indirect Taxes cadre. The elevated officers will now take on greater responsibilities in shaping India’s tax administration, trade facilitation, and revenue policy. Their collective expertise and leadership are expected to contribute significantly to advancing reforms and supporting India’s economic framework in the years ahead.
