On Independence Day 2025, 1,090 personnel from Police, Fire Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, and Correctional Services received Gallantry and Service Medals. The honours included 233 Gallantry Medals, 99 President’s Medals for Distinguished Service, and 758 Medals for Meritorious Service.
Most gallantry awards went to personnel from Jammu & Kashmir and Left Wing Extremism-affected areas. The recognition celebrates acts of bravery, distinguished service, and commitment to public safety across the nation.
