Prof. Mausam, an Associate Professor of Computer Science at IIT Delhi, has been appointed as a Part-time Member of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). He is a leading expert in artificial intelligence and natural language processing, and his appointment is a significant boost for the UIDAI.
Prof. Mausam has over 20 years of experience in research and teaching. He is the founding head of the Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence at IIT Delhi, and he is also an affiliate professor at the University of Washington, Seattle. His research interests include large-scale information extraction, AI for crowdsourced workflows, and probabilistic planning algorithms.
He is a recipient of the AAAI Senior Member status, and he has been a program chair for two top conferences, AAAI 2021, and ICAPS 2017. He was ranked the 56th most influential NLP scholar and 64th most influential AI scholar by ArnetMiner AI2000 Ranking in 2021.
