NIRL and SJVN sign long-term PPA for 200 MW Wind Power Project

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited (SJVNL) for a 200 MW wind power project. The agreement marks a significant step toward strengthening India’s renewable energy capacity under the ISTS-connected Wind Power Projects (Wind-2 Tranche).

The PPA was signed in Chennai through a tariff-based competitive bidding process for SJVN’s 600 MW wind energy portfolio. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of senior leadership from both organizations, including Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLCIL and Chairman of NIRL, and Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN Limited, along with other senior directors.

The proposed wind power project is expected to generate around 500 million units of clean and green energy annually, contributing substantially to India’s renewable energy goals and carbon reduction targets. The collaboration reflects the strong partnership between two leading Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), focused on accelerating sustainable power generation while ensuring long-term energy security for the country.
