Nine IPS officers assigned fresh postings in Bihar

In a notable administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening policing and internal security, the Bihar Government has transferred and reassigned nine IPS officers to key positions across the state.

As part of the changes, Pankaj Kumar Raj has been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Patna, and has also been entrusted with the additional responsibility of IGP, Railway, Patna. Meanwhile, Mrs S Premlatha has been posted as IGP, De-addiction and State Narcotics Control Bureau.

Sanjay Kumar, currently serving in the Special Branch, has been given additional charge of IGP, Bihar Special Armed Police. Sudhir Kumar Porika has been appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), SCRB.

Further postings include Kumar Gautam as Commandant of Bihar Special Armed Police-5, Patna, while Sushant Kumar Saroj takes charge as DIGP, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Patna, in addition to his existing responsibility as DIGP, Traffic.

Deepak Ranjan has been posted as DIGP, Anti-Dacoity Wing of the Crime Investigation Department (CID), Patna. Manish Kumar Sinha has been assigned as Commandant, Mounted Special Armed Police, Ara, while Ajay Kumar has been transferred as Commandant, Special Security Group (SSG), Patna.

The latest Bihar IPS reshuffle is aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, strengthening crime control mechanisms, and improving coordination among specialized police units across the state.
