Major IPS reshuffle in West Bengal: State Government reassigns Senior Police officers in strategic administrative overhaul

In a sweeping police administration revamp, the West Bengal government has announced a large-scale reshuffle of IPS officers, assigning key responsibilities to several senior officials across critical law enforcement wings. The comprehensive transfer exercise is aimed at strengthening policing, enhancing intelligence gathering, and improving operational efficiency throughout the state.

Under the new postings, Rajesh Kumar Yadav has been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Special Task Force (STF), while Rishikesh Meena takes charge as IGP (Organization). Sabya Sachi Raman Mishra has been posted as IGP, Armed Police, Barrackpore. Several other senior officers have been entrusted with crucial assignments in intelligence, traffic management, anti-corruption operations, correctional services, forensic science, coastal security, and Kolkata Police. The extensive reshuffle reflects the government’s focus on reinforcing internal security mechanisms and ensuring more effective law enforcement across West Bengal.
