In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle in Assam, multiple IAS officers have been assigned new administrative responsibilities, with several appointments made at the district and secretariat levels.
Partha Pratim Majumdar has been posted as District Commissioner, Bajali, while Narendra Kumar Shah has been appointed Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, along with additional charge as Managing Director of Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation. Aditya Vikram Yadav has been named District Commissioner, Lakhimpur.
Among other key appointments, Preeti Kumari becomes DC, West Karbi Anglong, Ayushi Jain takes charge as DC, Darrang, and Dhiraj Saud has been posted as DC, Baksa. Similarly, Gakul Chandra Brahma has been appointed DC, Chirang.
At the secretariat level, Saranga Pani Sarma has been posted as Secretary, Transport Department, with additional charge as State Project Director of the Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society. Gautam Das has been appointed Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Development, while Jatin Bora becomes Secretary, General Administration and Innovation, Incubation & Start-Ups Departments.
Further, Pronab Jit Kakoty has been appointed Additional Secretary & Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department. Parag Kumar Kakaty takes charge as Additional Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management, with additional responsibility as Additional CEO of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority.
Meanwhile, Mridul Kumar Das has been appointed Additional Secretary, Home & Political and Women & Child Development Departments, along with additional charge of NRC and e-FT projects.
