Kolkata witnesses significant IAS bureaucratic Shake-Up as 18 officers get new responsibilities

In a major administrative overhaul, the West Bengal government has transferred and reassigned 18 IAS officers across key departments to strengthen governance and streamline administrative functions. Among the prominent changes, Jagdish Prasad Meena (WB:2004), who was serving as Secretary, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, has been appointed Secretary, Food and Supplies Department. Senior IAS officer Ravi Inder Singh (WB:1994) has been shifted from the Self-Help Group and Self-Employment Department to take charge as Principal Secretary of the Transport Department.

The reshuffle also includes the appointment of Surendra Gupta as Principal Secretary, Land and Land Reforms and Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department, while Saumitra Mohan will continue as Secretary to the Governor and additionally oversee the Information and Cultural Affairs Department. Parwez Ahmad Siddiqui has been assigned the State Gazetteers Department, and Anoop Kumar Agrawal has taken over as Additional Chief Secretary of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department along with MSME and Textiles. Rajeev Kumar has been posted as Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Training and Skill Development Department.

Several other senior officers have also received new assignments. Moumita Godara Basu will head the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, while Randhir Kumar has been appointed Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, with additional responsibility in the Finance Department. Rajesh Pandey will serve as Additional Chief Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department, and R. Vimala has been posted to the North Bengal Development Department. Rachna Bhagat, Mukta Arya, Dushyant Nariala, Nandini Chakravorty, Raju Mishra, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, and Neelam Meena have also been entrusted with key administrative and departmental responsibilities as part of the extensive bureaucratic reshuffle.
