Karnataka government transfers 14 IAS officers in fresh administrative reshuffle

In a significant bureaucratic overhaul aimed at strengthening governance and public administration, the Karnataka Government has transferred 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments and public sector organizations. The reshuffle includes changes in transport, urban development, rural administration, education, health, and welfare sectors.

Among the prominent appointments, Major Manivannan P. (IAS: 1998), currently serving as Commissioner of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), has been assigned the additional responsibility of Commissioner, Directorate of Urban Land Transport. Sameer Shukla (IAS: 2005) has been appointed as Resident Commissioner, Karnataka, New Delhi, replacing I. Jamir M. (IAS: 2002), who will now serve as Secretary (Coordination) at Karnataka Bhawan, Delhi.

In the transport sector, Sivakumar K.B. (IAS: 2010) has been posted as Managing Director of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), while Raghunandan Murthy (IAS: 2014) takes charge as Managing Director of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). Akram Pasha (IAS: 2012) moves from KSRTC to become Mission Director of the National Health Mission.

The reshuffle also includes the appointment of Nitish K. (IAS: 2015) as Director of Municipal Administration with additional responsibility as Special Commissioner (Health and Education) in the Greater Bengaluru Authority. Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar (IAS: 2016) has been shifted to the post of Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), while Sateesha B.C. (IAS: 2012) becomes Commissioner of Agriculture.

Other notable changes include Dr. Prasad N.V. (IAS: 2004) taking charge as Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department, Thulasi Maddineni (IAS: 2005) moving to the Higher Education Department as Secretary, and Randeep D. (IAS: 2006) being appointed Secretary, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development.

Additionally, Ram Prasad Manohar V. (IAS: 2010), Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited, has been entrusted with the concurrent charge of Commissioner, Tourism. Gajanan Bale (IAS: 2022) has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat, Bagalkot, along with additional responsibilities linked to the Upper Krishna Project.
