ITDC & Ministry of Tribal Affairs launch Capacity Building Programme for Tribal Homestay Owners

The India Tourism Development Corporation, under the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, inaugurated a capacity building programme for tribal homestay owners at Kautilya Hall, Hotel Samrat in New Delhi.

This initiative aims to promote community-based tourism while enhancing the professional hospitality skills of tribal homestay operators across India. The programme focuses on improving service standards, enriching visitor experiences, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through structured training conducted by IHM Ashok under ITDC.

The first batch includes 40 participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Gujarat.

Senior dignitaries present at the event included Ranjana Chopra, Manish Thakur, Mugdha Sinha, Varnali Deka, and Rajesh Rana.

A major highlight was the launch of the “Tribal Homestay – Operation & Development Manual 2026,” a multilingual guide designed to support the professional development and management of tribal homestays across India.
