Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has recorded a revenue of Rs. 30,400 crore (provisional and unaudited) for the financial year ending March 31, 2025. This is a marginal increase from Rs. 30,381 crore in the previous year. Despite challenges such as delayed deliveries of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) due to engine unavailability and disruptions in the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) schedule following an accident in January 2025, HAL managed to sustain its revenue. The company accelerated deliveries of other products and services to maintain its financial performance.
In the past 12 months, HAL has significantly expanded its order book, which now stands at Rs. 1,84,000 crore, compared to an opening balance of Rs. 94,129 crore. The company secured new manufacturing contracts worth Rs. 1,02,000 crore and Repair and Overhaul (ROH) contracts worth Rs. 17,500 crore during 2024-25. A major milestone was the signing of a ₹62,777 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 156 LCH Prachand helicopters, marking the largest-ever procurement by MoD from HAL.
Other key highlights of the year include HAL becoming the first Defence PSU to achieve ‘Maharatna’ status and securing contracts for 12 additional Su-30 MKI aircraft, the mid-life upgrade of 40 Do-228 aircraft, the supply of 240 AL-31FP engines for the Su-30 MKI fleet, and the avionics upgrade of an IL-78 aircraft. The first AL-31FP engine was delivered within a month of signing the contract. With supply chain challenges easing, new orders in hand, and enhanced production capacities, HAL is set for a strong operational and financial performance in FY 2025-26.
