Deendayal Port Authority to Set Up 5 MW Green Hydrogen Plant at Kandla

In a major step towards sustainable port operations, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has signed an agreement with Oswal Greenzo Energies for the establishment of a 5 MW Green Hydrogen Plant at the port. The project covers the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the facility and aligns with the Government of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and the Make-in-India initiative.

Once operational, the plant is expected to produce around 840 metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually, enabling cleaner fuel usage across port operations, transportation and logistics. The initiative will significantly reduce carbon emissions and promote renewable energy adoption in the maritime sector.

Commenting on the development, Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman, Deendayal Port Authority, said that the project marks a historic milestone for India’s maritime industry and reflects the commitment of DPA, Kandla to green, sustainable and self-reliant port development in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
