The Bihar government has carried out a major reshuffle of IAS officers, assigning several senior bureaucrats to important administrative positions across departments and divisions. K Senthil Kumar has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Labour Resources and Migrant Workers’ Welfare, while continuing to hold additional charge of the Backward Classes and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
Pankaj Kumar Pal has been posted as Secretary, Road Construction Department, whereas Abhay Kumar Singh will serve as Secretary, Information Technology Department. Mayank Varwade has been appointed Commissioner of Patna Division, and Dinesh Kumar will take charge as Commissioner, Kosi Division (Saharsa), along with additional responsibility for Purnia Division.
Anshul Kumar, currently serving as District Magistrate, has been relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner, Purnia Division. Prem Singh Meena has been appointed Commissioner, Munger Division, with additional charge of Bhagalpur Division. Dharmendra Singh will now head the Sugarcane Industry Department as Secretary, while Deepak Anand has been posted as Secretary, Food and Consumer Protection Department.
In another important development, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal has been given additional charge as Secretary of both the Education Department and Sports Department. Avneesh Kumar Singh has been appointed Secretary and Commissioner, Mines and Geology Department, and will also hold additional charge as Managing Director of Bihar State Mineral Development Corporation Limited.
Himanshu Sharma has been assigned as Secretary-in-Charge, Science, Technology and Technical Education Department. Shrikant Kundalik Khandekar and Gunjan Singh have been appointed Joint Secretaries in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Additionally, Shubham Kumar has been posted as Deputy Development Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer, District Council, Patna. Kaushal Kishori has also been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Managing Director, Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (BELTRON).
The latest Bihar IAS reshuffle reflects the state government’s focus on strengthening governance, departmental coordination, and administrative efficiency across key sectors.
