Bihar government reassigns key IAS officers in latest reshuffle

The state of Bihar has seen a round of bureaucratic reshuffling with several IAS officers receiving fresh postings. Mihir Kumar Singh has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, and will additionally oversee the Transport Department. This dual assignment is expected to bring better alignment between industrial development and logistical planning in the state.

Lokesh Kumar Singh, currently Secretary of Rural Development, has been given additional responsibility as Secretary, Health Department—signaling an emphasis on integrated rural and health infrastructure planning. Sandeep Kumar R Pudakalkatti has been appointed as Secretary, Road Construction Department, while continuing his role as Vigilance Commissioner in the General Administration Department.

In other key postings, Chandrashekhar Singh will now serve as Secretary, Disaster Management Department, and B Kartikeya Dhanji takes over as Secretary, Sugarcane Industries, while also retaining his position as Vigilance Commissioner in GAD. These appointments reflect the state government’s approach to consolidate expertise and improve administrative performance across vital sectors.
