Assam government reshuffles ACS cadre, transfers officers across key Departments

The Assam Government has carried out a fresh round of transfers among officers of the Assam Civil Services (ACS), reallocating responsibilities across district administrations and state departments to strengthen governance and improve administrative coordination.

As part of the reshuffle, Nabajit Pathak (ACS, DR-13) has been transferred from the post of Co-District Commissioner, Goalpara West, to Co-District Commissioner, Rangia in Kamrup district. In a corresponding move, Mridusmita Borah (ACS, DR-15) has been shifted from Rangia and appointed Deputy Secretary in the Agriculture Department.

Debashis Goswami (ACS, DR-17), who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Mines and Minerals Department, has been posted as Additional District Commissioner, Kamrup. Meanwhile, Sarmistha Neog (ACS, DR-19) has moved in the opposite direction, taking over as Deputy Secretary in the Mines and Minerals Department after serving as Additional District Commissioner in Kamrup.

The state government has also reassigned Prabhat Pegu (ACS, DR-17) from Co-District Commissioner, Dhakuakhana in Lakhimpur district, to the position of Additional District Commissioner, Biswanath. Further, Dr. Jiwan Krishna Goswami (ACS, DR-16), previously Secretary of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), has been appointed Co-District Commissioner, Jalukbari, Kamrup.

In another key posting, Apurba Kumar Nath (ACS, DR-16) has been transferred from Jalukbari, Kamrup (Metro), to serve as Co-District Commissioner, Dhakuakhana in Lakhimpur district.

The latest administrative reshuffle underscores the Assam Government’s efforts to optimize field-level administration and enhance departmental coordination across the state.
