Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari was born on September 19, 1965, at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, in a family of lawyers.
He enrolled with the Bar Council of U.P. in 1990 and practiced law in Pithoragarh and Nainital districts.
He served as Legal Advisor to His Excellency the Governor of Uttarakhand and Chairman, Commercial Tax Tribunal, Dehradun.
On April 4, 2022, he was appointed Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital.
On April 27, 2023, he was elevated as Judge, High Court of Uttarakhand.
On October 25, 2023, he was assigned to perform the duties of Acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court with effect from October 27, 2023, consequent upon the retirement of incumbent Justice Vipin Sanghi.
