Veteran bureaucrat Amitabh Kant has been appointed Senior Advisor to Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited. A 1980 batch retired IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, Kant is best known for his visionary leadership as CEO of NITI Aayog and Secretary, DPIIT.
He played a pivotal role during India’s G20 presidency and championed the Aspirational Districts Programme.
At Fairfax, he will provide strategic counsel leveraging his deep knowledge of Indian economic reforms, digital infrastructure, and investment policy. His appointment signals Fairfax’s commitment to long-term, transformative investments in India, guided by one of the country’s most respected policy architects.
